The former Ohio State football player could go anywhere in the 2021 NFL Draft. We know he won’t go number one, but he could go two to the Jets and fit in nicely.

There have been several swings and misses with the New York Jets and their first-round picks recently. From 2011-2018, none of their first-round picks are still with the team. They clearly need someone they can count on to help their franchise for years to come.

The Ohio State football program would like to present them quarterback Justin Fields. Fields is someone who can do everything at a very high level. He throws a lively ball, he’s very accurate, and he can use his legs to escape the pocket and make plays down the field that way.

Fields would be an excellent fit in a big city like New York. He is a natural-born leader and could definitely handle the rigors of the New York media. Perhaps no media is filled with more scrutiny in college football than the Ohio State football media. That has prepared him well.

Fields is also very durable. He did not miss a single game in either season he started at Ohio State. He also played through some very tough injuries. He got hurt against Michigan in 2019 and came back the very next play and threw a touchdown. That was with a knee injury. He did the same thing in 2020 after getting speared in the ribs against Clemson.

The Jets need someone who is durable, fearless, and capable. Fields checks every one of those boxes. They also need someone who can make plays because they don’t have very many good playmakers on their squad right now. Their best receiver is Corey Davis (?) and they don’t have a good running game.

dark. Next. Ohio State doesn't schedule softly

Fields would be able to help both the passing and the running game. He has the mental fortitude to succeed in a city like New York. It would make sense for them to take him. It would make them very happy for the next ten to fifteen years.
