The former Ohio State football player already wowed scouts and GM’s with his performance in his first Pro Day. He can show them even more the second time around.

I’m not sure what more Justin Fields has to do to earn some respect. The former Ohio State football player was fantastic in 2020 after a really good 2019. He led the Buckeyes to the National Championship Game after he fought to have them even play a season at all.

Yet despite all of that, for some reason Fields has been sliding down draft boards across the NFL. He’s now projected to be the fourth quarterback taken at best, and might even slide behind Trey Lance and end up being the fifth QB off the board in late April.

None of this makes sense, especially considering his astounding performance at Ohio State’s Pro Day a couple of weeks ago. Apparently, it didn’t impress enough executives because Fields is now deciding to throw again at another Pro Day on Wednesday.

This Pro Day will give scouts who attended Alabama’s Pro Day a chance to watch Fields up close and personal. It will give him a chance to change the minds of people who have him slotted behind Mac Jones. He can give himself a shot to be taken third overall, and maybe even second depending on if the Jets like what they see.

To be honest, I’m not really sure what more Fields can do at this point. His first Pro Day was incredible already and he has some good tape out there too. I’m not sure what more he has to prove to scouts to get him the respect that he deserves.

Fields has supreme confidence in himself, so he thinks he can perform as well, if not better, than his first Pro Day. In my eyes, this workout can only hurt him. Unless he decides to run the 40 again, which he is not expected to, his throwing can’t get much better than it did the first time.

We will certainly keep you updated throughout his performance on Wednesday and hopefully he can have another great day.
