The former Ohio State star has qualified for the Olympics five years after he became the youngest Olympic Gold medalist in history.

Kyle Snyder is not just one of the greatest Ohio State wrestlers of all-time, but he is one of the greatest Ohio State athletes period. He dominated during his time in Columbus, winning three individual national titles and being runner-up as a freshman.

At just the age of just 19, he became the youngest Olympic Gold medalist of all-time in 2016. This was after he became the youngest wrestler to ever win a World Championship. Snyder dominated while at Ohio State too, compiling a record of 75-5 with four of those losses occurring as a freshman.

Snyder has continued to dominate even now that his time in Columbus has passed. Snyder has now qualified for the Olympics again. He will compete in Tokyo to try and defend his gold medal now that the Olympics were moved back to 2021 because of the pandemic.

While I don’t know a ton about wrestling, I do know that Snyder is one of the most dominant ones I’ve seen. I did go see him a few times while I was in school and he destroyed every opponent he faced. It seems as though he has kept that going.

I would be surprised if Snyder didn’t walk away from Tokyo with at least a bronze medal. I would say that he should defend his gold medal, but I don’t know enough about the global wrestling stage to comment on that. But he is the defending champ, so I guess he’s on top until someone knocks him off, right?

dark. Next. Kyle Snyder could land five-star center

I certainly will be following Snyder once the Olympics roll around later this Summer. Hopefully, you do too and we can see him win another gold.
