Who is the Ohio State football team’s best player?

The Ohio State football team has plenty of talent on their roster for 2021. Justin Fields was clearly the Buckeyes’ best player last year. Who is their best player now?

The Ohio State football team was one of the most talented teams in the country last year. That was clear when they made the National Championship Game. Even though they lose Justin Fields to the NFL, they still have plenty of talent on this year’s squad too.

With Fields gone though, who is Ohio State’s best player? It was clearly him in 2020. Who will it be this year? There are a few candidates on both sides of the ball. Let’s start with the defensive side of the ball. There is one clear candidate there and that is Haskell Garrett.

Garrett had a claim to be the best defensive player on the team last season. He was incredible in the middle of the defensive line. He had 20 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks. He also had a pick-six in the Michigan State game and had another pass defended.

While he was really good last year and will be again this year, he isn’t the best overall player on the team. Garrett Wilson has been very good and is one of the top receivers in the country. Even so, he isn’t the best receiver on his own team. That is Chris Olave.

Since Olave is the best receiver on the team, he is the best overall player on this team. The receivers are the best group of players on this squad, and Olave is the best of them all. Olave had 7 touchdown catches to go along with 729 yards on 50 catches.

Olave will have plenty of stats to prove this point in 2021. He’s the most talented player on this team. He will definitely be one of the focal points of the offense this season.
