March Madness is one of the best times of the year on the sports calendar. It makes it better that the Ohio State basketball team has a real shot to make a big run.

March Madness officially starts in just a few minutes with the start of the First Four. Normally, this takes place on a Wednesday. But in the age of COVID, everything is screwed up. Now the First Four starts on a Thursday. It doesn’t matter when it starts, all that matters is that it’s back.

The Ohio State basketball team, like every other team last year, didn’t get a chance to prove how good they were in 2020. This year is different though. Thanks to the great state of Indiana, the NCAA Tournament gets a chance to go on this year.

This first weekend is my favorite sports weekend of the year every single year. This is the first sign of Spring to me. It also is a symbol of what sports are truly supposed to mean; every team has a chance to win it all. Every team in the 68-team field will have a shot to win a national title.

There are all kinds of upsets in March Madness. The Buckeyes will try to keep that from happening to them this season. But that’s part of the beauty of the tournament; no one knows what will happen. Teams can get hot at just the right time and run through the field.

So enjoy the NCAA Tournament this year. Watch as many games as you can. Get your basketball fill. Savor the matchups, the games, the moments. Savor it all because we know what it feels like to not have it. And it was one of the worst feelings imaginable as a sports fan.

Next. Four-star tackle could choose OSU soon. dark

It would be great if Ohio State could win it all. That’s what I’m rooting for and I know what you are rooting for too. But I’m just grateful to have this opportunity back.
