The Ohio State basketball team gets a number two seed in the NCAA Tournament and will face 15 seeded Oral Roberts.
The Ohio State basketball team gets a number two seed in the NCAA Tournament. This comes after they fell just short of winning a Big Ten Tournament Championship, losing to Illinois in overtime.
This is an appropriate seed for the Buckeyes. They only would’ve had an outside shot to get a one seed if they had won today. They lost their shot at a one seed when they lost four straight to end the regular season.
This doesn’t make Ohio State any less dangerous in this tournament though. They showed that they can beat any given team on any given night. Ohio State is clearly one of the best teams in the country.
Who do the Buckeyes play in their first game? They face off against Oral Roberts. Oral Roberts is 16-10 and will come in facing a hot Ohio State squad. The bummer is this game will be on Friday, so Ohio State gets less rest before that game.
This is a game that the Buckeyes shouldn’t have any trouble winning at all. I would be shocked if Ohio State didn’t win this game by at least 15 or 20 points. They would face the winner of the 7/10 matchup between Florida and Virginia Tech.
Ohio State basketball is playing some great ball after ending the regular season in a big slump. Chris Holtmann just needs to get his team some rest before this Oral Roberts game. Expect him to play a large bench in that game too.
This is an overall tough region for Ohio State to be in though. They have Baylor, Villanova, Purdue, and Arkansas all in their region. If Ohio State advances to the Final Four, they will certainly have earned it.
