Ohio State basketball has two players on All-Big Ten Teams
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State basketball team had two players honored as All-Big Ten selections, capping off a really good season for the Buckeyes.
Even though the Ohio State basketball team has lost four straight games, they still have had a really good season. They are a team with some really good players. Two of those players were honored by both the coaches and the media as All-Big Ten selections.
E.J. Liddell was selected to the First Team All-Big Ten by the coaches and Second Team All-Big Ten by the media. Liddell has been Ohio State’s best player all season long. It’s interesting to see him get picked First Team by the coaches and Second Team by the media though.
Liddell was not selected by First Team by the media and had Trayce Jackson-Davis and Hunter Dickinson selected instead. Second Team seems right for Liddell in my opinion after the Buckeyes slid down to fifth in the standings by the end of the year.
Duane Washington was selected to Third Team All-Big Ten by both the coaches and the media. Washington is the streakiest player that the Buckeyes have. He played really well in the middle of the season after a rocky start, and then played poorly here at the end.
Both players are part of the reason why Ohio State was even in the discussion for a one seed at the end of the season. While they won’t end up getting that, they still have a chance to make some noise if they get hot. They are still as talented as anyone.
It all starts this week with the Big Ten Tournament. They have to get back on track.
