The Ohio State football team has more NFL Combine invites than anyone else in the country. Here are three players who can improve their draft stock with good Combine workouts.

The Ohio State football team had 14 players invited to the NFL Combine this year. That was the most of any college program in the country. The NFL already has a bunch of successful Buckeyes in the league, and now there are going to be several more entering the league this year.

Of those 14 players who were invited to the virtual Combine, there are three specific players who could elevate their draft status pretty significantly with a good workout. All of these guys can make themselves money by elevating themselves to a higher round.

Shaun Wade, CB

Wade was the best defensive back the Buckeyes had in 2020. Even though he was named as the best defensive back in the Big Ten and was named a consensus All-American, he still didn’t play up to his lofty preseason expectations. He simply had a bit of a down year.

If Wade can have a solid Combine workout, he could elevate himself into being a late second to early third-round pick. Right now he is slotted to be a middle third or early fourth-round guy. A good workout would go a long way into improving his stock.

Pete Werner, LB

Werner was the best linebacker the Buckeyes had this season. He was a three-year starter with the Ohio State football team. Right now, Werner is projected to go in the second round. He has a lot of good tape that is helping his case though, especially from the last two years.

A good Combine workout could give Werner the boost he needs to get into the first round. He is one of the best inside linebackers in this year’s draft class. A good workout could entice a team to take him late in round one. Werner is one of two guys who are on the bubble of being a first-round pick.

Wyatt Davis, G

The other guy who is on the fence of being a first-round pick is Wyatt Davis. Davis, like Wade, was considered a unanimous All-American in 2020 despite not playing up to lofty expectations he set for himself in 2019. Davis was also a consensus All-American in 2019.

Putting up good Combine numbers, especially ones that show his strength, could elevate him into the conversation as being the first guard taken in the Draft. Right now, he’s projected to be taken in the second round. A good workout could change that.

These three former Ohio State football players will be doing everything they can to have the good workouts they need to elevate their draft position. We’ll be rooting for all of them to do well.
