After a national championship run that came up just short this past season, the Ohio State football team has made their presence known for the NFL Combine this year.

Although there will not be the usual festivities in Indianapolis this year due to the pandemic, the NFL Combine will be replaced by each individual school’s pro day.

Ohio State has 14 participants that were invited to the 2021 NFL Combine, the most of any other school in the country. Alabama (11), Georgia (11), Notre Dame (11), and Florida (9) all followed the Buckeyes with the top 5 most combine invites.

The 14 invites from the Buckeyes are Justin Fields, Trey Sermon, Josh Myers, Wyatt Davis, Luke Farrell, Jonathon Cooper, Tommy Togiai, Baron Browning, Pete Werner, Tuf Borland, Justin Hillard, Shaun Wade, Blake Haubeil, and Drue Christman.

Many NFL draft experts are predicting that the chances of all 14 Buckeyes being drafted are very realistic.

For Ryan Day, this accomplishment for his program is nothing short of recruiting firepower that he can use for future recruits. Not only will the Buckeyes compete for national championships year after year but the program will develop its players to give them the best shot at a career in the NFL as well.

Ohio State’s pro day will take place on March 30th. As usual, several GMs, scouts, and coaches from nearly every NFL franchise will be in attendance, including former Buckeyes head coach and Jacksonville Jaguars head coach, Urban Meyer.

It would be shocking for the Buckeyes to not have top picks in the Draft since they seem to do that every year. Fields, Davis, and Werner seem to be in the best spot to be selected highly. All three players should be difference makers at the next level.

dark. Next. Four likely destinations for Justin Fields

This is yet another recruiting tool that the Ohio State football program can use to its advantage.
