Three best players Ohio State football played against in the 2010s
By Ryan Stano
Before he was a Super Bowl winning quarterback, Russell Wilson was a grad transfer from NC State that chose to go to Wisconsin for one year. That year was filled with a lot of good play from Wilson as he led the Badgers to an 11 win season and a Rose Bowl berth.
Wilson had a great game against the Braxton Miller led Buckeyes, throwing for 253 yards and 3 touchdowns. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to beat Ohio State. Miller threw a Hail Mary to win the game with just a few seconds left. It was one of the few highlights of a bleak 2011 season for the Buckeyes.
Wilson ended up finishing the season with 3,175 yards, 33 passing touchdowns, 6 rushing touchdowns, and only 4 interceptions. He also set an NCAA record for passing efficiency. He was the real deal and ended up showing that when he was drafted by the Seahawks.
Since being in Seattle, Wilson has played in two Super Bowls while winning one of them. He is been selected to the Pro Bowl eight times while also being a Second-Team All-Pro once in 2019. His NFL resumé speaks for itself. It all started in college, and really with that one year in Madison being the catalyst for everything.
The Ohio State football team was able to win this game against him, which was great. They were also able to beat the next guy on our list, who no one knew was going to be good until he got to the NFL.
