The Ohio State football team played a lot of great players in the last decade. These three players are the best ones they faced off against.

The Ohio State football team has played against a lot of really good players in the last 10 years or so. The Buckeyes won a lot of games during that decade as well. Ohio State had plenty of good players in the 2010s as well. They played in a lot of big games.

What’s interesting is that some of the best players that the Buckeyes played against in that decade didn’t even play for the best teams. Players like Blake Bortles, who played for UCF, ended up being very high draft picks in the NFL and have played a long time in the NFL.

Of course, plenty of the players Ohio State had to face off against were a part of some of the best teams of that decade as well. The Buckeyes faced Clemson three times, Alabama, Oregon twice, and Notre Dame. Those are some of the most iconic brands in college football.

It’s really hard to just narrow down three players from this list. It’s even harder to define the criteria that “best” is supposed to cover. Do we just go based off their college careers? Or do we add their success in the NFL into it as well? It’s a tough call.

Ultimately, I decided to put in the full body of work; what they did in college as well as what they’ve done so far in the NFL. These are the three best pure football players that the Buckeyes have seen. If they were good in college, they’ve also been good in the NFL.

Our first player played Ohio State back in 2011 and only played one game against the Buckeyes. It was a good one even though he fell to the worst Ohio State football team of the decade.
