Ohio State basketball will miss fans in matchup vs. TTUN
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State basketball team takes on Michigan in the highest of profile matchups. In this game, they will dearly miss the fans.
COVID has taken a lot from sports over the last year. It took games, shut down leagues, and kept fans from being able to watch their favorite team. That last part is the last thing that we are trying to get back as we slowly are trying to put COVID in the rearview mirror.
Having fans today in the Schott would have been a great thing. Not only would it have provided a huge advantage for the Ohio State basketball team, but it would have provided a great atmosphere for one of the premier college basketball matchups of the season.
Chris Holtmann knows that the fans will be missed. He said earlier this week that the only thing he wished that he could have more than fans for this game is world peace. He knows how much the players would enjoy having fans in this kind of rivalry game.
Just because the Buckeyes won’t have fans in the building for this game doesn’t mean that they can’t win it though. Ohio State has been playing some of the best basketball in the country. They are a number one-seed who could end up being a big factor in the NCAA Tournament.
Today’s game at 1 pm on CBS will tell us a lot about the potential of this Ohio State basketball team. Even if they don’t win this game and they are able to keep it close, they will show that they can compete with anyone in the country.
Of course, the players are going to do anything they possibly can to win this game and lock up that number one-seed.
