Ohio State basketball will have a showdown for the ages vs. TTUN
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State basketball team takes on TTUN tomorrow afternoon in a showdown between two top four teams. It has all the makings of a showdown for the ages.
Ohio State and Michigan have had plenty of big-time showdowns against each other over the years. They are two storied programs with a lot of history. Of course, most of those have been on the football field. Now, these two schools have a chance to play a big-time basketball showdown.
The Ohio State basketball team has an opportunity to show the world that they are a true national championship contender. They have the most Quad 1 wins of any team in America. If they beat TTUN tomorrow, it would give them 10 of those this season.
The only thing that could make this game better is if fans were allowed to be present. This would be one of those games where the Schott is electric and super loud during the entire game. Unfortunately, that is not possible because of the pandemic.
In order to win, Ohio State will have to be at the top of their game. Kyle Young will have to be great on both offense and defense. He will have to guard Hunter Dickenson inside, who is Michigan’s best interior player. He averages 14.6 points per game.
E.J. Liddell will have to be the best player on the floor for Ohio State to win. He has been the best player for the Buckeyes all season long. With his ability to score inside and outside, he is an extremely tough cover for any team. He averages 15.5 points per game and 6.6 rebounds a game, both lead the team.
Game prediction: Ohio State 85 Michigan 80
This will be a close game the entire time. After a poor defensive effort against Penn State, the Buckeyes will play better defense against Michigan. The problem is, they will make tough shots to keep themselves in the game. Ohio State will just make more though.
This is the type of game that can define a season. The Buckeyes are a really good team and I hope they can show it tomorrow.
