Chris Holtmann made it very clear that the Ohio State basketball team is not overlooking the Nittany Lions before facing Michigan this weekend.

The Ohio State basketball team is a Final Four contender for a reason. One of the biggest reasons is their focus on each opponent. They don’t look ahead at any matchups down the road. They know how tough the Big Ten is as a conference and they make sure to respect every team.

This week is no different. Chris Holtmann is making sure that his team is staying focused on the task at hand, which is Penn State.

The Buckeyes play Penn State tomorrow night at 8 pm on Big Ten Network. They play Michigan on Sunday afternoon. Holtmann has clearly made it clear that they will focus on TTUN after they take on the Nittany Lions. He doesn’t want his team looking ahead to that top-4 matchup.

Part of the reason for that is how tough the Nittany Lions played the Buckeyes earlier this season. Penn State almost came back and beat Ohio State, as the Buckeyes had to hold on for just a four-point victory. Holtmann knows that any loss of focus would mean losing the game.

His players will understand Holtmann’s cause for concern considering how good this league is. I would be shocked if the Buckeyes didn’t come to play tomorrow. They know they have to be locked in for the entire contest.

As long as Holtmann keeps his guys focused, tomorrow shouldn’t be an issue.
