Ohio State football recruiting: Three best prospects left in 2022
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team only has one offensive lineman in the class of 2022 right now. The final player on this list is the top-ranked tackle in the country. His name is Zach Rice, and he is also from the state of Virginia. Rice would be a fantastic get.
If Ohio State was able to get Rice’s commitment, It would be the third time in the last five years that the Buckeyes would have the top-ranked tackle in the country. Paris Johnson Jr. and Nicholas Petit-Frere were the other two tackles that Ohio State was able to get.
Rice is 6’6 and 282 pounds. He is big but yet can still move well laterally to take on edge rushers. He is very powerful and uses his power to drive those edge rushers into the ground. Rice’s film is good, but his competition isn’t exactly the best in high school.
Rice posted a video on Twitter at the beginning of the month showing that he could commit at any minute. Besides Ohio State, he has offers from powerhouses such as Alabama, Notre Dame, and Florida. In fact, he has 35 offers right now. Rice has a lot of schools to choose from.
While it’s unclear when Rice will decide to make a commitment, Ohio State is definitely high on his list. It looks like he will be the first player of these three to make a decision. When he does, we will be there and will let you know when anyone from the class of 2022 commits.
