The first guy we will take a look at is defensive tackle Walter Nolen. He is the number two overall player in the country. He is 6’4 and 300 pounds and goes to high school in Tennessee. Nolen has quite a list of offers, but just recently cut his list to 10 schools.

Making his final list is Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson, USC, Oregon, Michigan, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, and LSU. Larry Johnson is obviously the person who is primarily recruiting Nolen. Johnson has a ridiculously good track record of developing defensive linemen obviously, so that is Ohio State’s main advantage.

As far as Nolen’s talent goes, it’s extremely high. Being such a big guy allows him to eat up space in the running game and gives him the power to push back offensive linemen. He also has a really fast first step too. He also already has great hands, which we all know will be improved under Johnson if he chooses Ohio State.

Nolen would be the first defensive lineman that the Ohio State football program would have in the class of 2022. Of course, the Buckeyes still have to beat out nine other schools. Nolen doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to narrow down his list any time soon so it will be a waiting game with him.

While Ohio State will keep up on Nolen and not relent up on recruiting him, they have a while to do so. Next on the list is another five-star player who has to be happy that Al Washington decided to stay with the Ohio State football program.
