The Ohio State Buckeyes had an incredible run this football season, but ultimately came up one game short of their goal of winning a national championship. Can the Ohio State basketball team finish the job during March Madness?

The Ohio State Buckeyes have been on a tear recently. Starting with the football team winning the Big Ten and obliterating Clemson, now the basketball team is doing their best to follow. So far, that as amounted to a projected one-seed ranking come March Madness and a shot at both the regular season and tournament Big Ten titles. With so much going for them, the questions have started to shift to see just how far this team can go.

Ohio State is ranked #4 in the AP Polls and it seems like the team is starting to click. Within the deep Big Ten conference, the Buckeyes are gaining plenty of experience against top teams and have been able to win with different styles, star players, and philosophies.

Ohio State still has several challenging games coming up to close out the regular season and they will need to make a deep run in the Big Ten tournament, but fans have started to shift their attention on what the Buckeyes can do on a national stage. The biggest question being, can Ohio State win it all?

Unlike in football, there is not currently a dynasty that is expected to win or compete in the National Championship game every year. While there are many teams that are expected to make a deep run, March Madness provides more diversity and challenges for the teams.

A big selling point for any team in the Big Ten winning the tournament is that by the time they get to the Elite Eight or Final Four, they will be facing competition similar to what they have played all year.

The depth of the Big Ten could end up benefitting the Buckeyes by preparing them to paly any team on any given night. If Ohio State can maintain their hold on a one-seed, the Buckeyes should be able to ride a more talented roster to the Elite Eight. Once there, they will have the resolve and fortitude having played the top teams in the country already.

dark. Next. Who will step up in Shaun Wade's spot?

This team has the ability to win it all, and could reasonably provide Columbus a national championship trophy after all.
