The Ohio State basketball team will be a high seed in the Big Ten tournament. That tournament will now be played in Indianapolis.

The Ohio State basketball team has been playing some great basketball this season, especially as of late. If they can roll through the Big Ten Tournament with some wins, they might be in line for a one seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Big Ten Tournament has now changed venues.

Instead of being played in Chicago like was previously scheduled, the tournament will now be played in Indianapolis, specifically Lucas Oil Stadium. This makes sense since the NCAA Tournament will also be played in the state of Indiana, with most of the games played in downtown Indy,

Whoever wins the Big Ten Tournament would likely just stay in Indianapolis so they can quarantine before the NCAA Tournament starts. It mitigates the risk of infection for all involved. While it’s a bummer for Chicago, this move just makes the most sense for our current climate.

This move benefits the Buckeyes as well. It’s a closer drive and it mitigates concerns of contracting COVID, which the Buckeyes have been able to avoid thus far this season. Announcing this move now also helps all of the teams because they have more time to make their travel arrangements.

This will be a Big Ten Tournament like none other. As I’m sure you remember, last year’s tournament was canceled after only one day of play. This year, everyone will be working diligently to make sure that everyone is safe during the duration of the tournament.
