The Ohio State basketball team added a big win onto their NCAA Tournament resume after beating Wisconsin 74-62.

It didn’t look good at the end of the game. Wisconsin had brought the game back to within four with just under four minutes left to play at 62-58. But the Ohio State basketball team finished strong and was able to beat the Badgers in the Kohl Center 74-62.

Seth Towns was huge off the bench. He had 10 points on 5-8 shooting and looked fluid throughout the whole game. He really seems like he’s finding his rhythm at this point of the season. The Buckeyes need Towns to play like this down the stretch.

C.J. Walker came back today and played about as well as you could ask for considering he has torn ligaments in his hand. He had 8 points off the bench and added three assists. It was his first game in 2021 and he did not disappoint. Look for him to play more minutes in the next few games.

E.J. Liddell was the best player on the court though. He had 20 points of 7-12 shooting and really couldn’t be stopped at any point in this game. He bullied Wisconsin down low and also hit a fair amount of midrange shots. Liddell might be Chris Holtmann’s best recruit.

Despite only shooting 31% from three, the Buckeyes held Wisconsin to only 25% from downtown. Their team defense was really good around the line against a very good shooting team. It was the biggest reason that Ohio State walked away with a victory.

This combination of tight defense and timely offense is exactly how Holtmann wants his team to play. If they can work on closing out games better, this team could be dangerous in the Big Ten race and the NCAA Tournament as well.
