The Ohio State football team is one step away from winning it all. We offer you a final prediction of what will happen Monday night.

Everyone within the Ohio State football program has been through the wringer this season. This was a season that wasn’t even supposed to be played. The Big Ten decided to not play and then reversed course. Now the Buckeyes have a shot to win a national title on Monday night.

Alabama is not an easy opponent to face in this game. They have the sixth-best offense in terms of yardage and the second-best offense in terms of points per game. They have the Heisman Trophy winner and another Heisman finalist behind center. It’s not going to be easy.

The Buckeyes will have to win the line of scrimmage to win this game. The defensive line has to be their normal dominant selves for all four quarters. Despite Bama having elite receivers, the focus needs to be on Najee Harris and stopping the run. Doing that limits play-action opportunities for them.

I don’t expect Ohio State to be able to stop Alabama often in this game. They will need to force a couple of turnovers at the right time though. The offensive line will have to be huge. Trey Sermon needs to have at least 200 yards rushing for the Buckeyes to win.

Game prediction: Ohio State 56 Alabama 42

This is going to be a shootout. Alabama has a great offense, but their defense is very susceptible. The Buckeyes will be the best offense they have seen all season long by a wide margin. They won’t be able to keep up with Justin Fields‘ deep passing to Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson.

Sermon will have another huge game and keep the Buckeyes balanced offensively. The defense will get stops at the right moments and the Buckeyes will be celebrating a National Championship Game victory.
