The Ohio State football team has a 35-14 lead at halftime over Clemson. A huge reason for that is the toughness from their quarterback.

The Ohio State football team has a chance to get revenge on Clemson. They are halfway there, owning a 35-14 halftime lead over the Tigers. The biggest reason for that has been the toughness of quarterback Justin Fields, who has been simply outstanding.

Fields took a shot from Clemson team captain James Skalski and was in clear pain. He had to leave the game after taking a helmet to the ribs. It ended up being a targeting call and Skalski was ejected. Even so, Fields was still in obvious pain, suffering from possibly a broken rib.

That didn’t matter. Two plays after he was hurt, he threw a touchdown to Chris Olave while still being in clear pain. He also threw a touchdown to Jeremey Ruckert right before the end of the half. He has three touchdown passes in the first half of this game.

At the half, Fields is 16/18 for 223 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also has 7 carries for 50 yards. Quite simply, Fields has been amazing. His toughness has been out of this world. His leadership has also shown to be fantastic, as he refuses to be taken out of this game.

While the Buckeyes have a huge lead, they still need to stay aggressive in the second half. A lot of that is predicated on how much Fields can do. If he can stay out there and play through the pain, the Buckeyes can keep balance and keep moving the ball effectively.
