The Ohio State football defensive tackle was snubbed by the Big Ten media but got his revenge from the national media.

Haskell Garrett was the Ohio State football team’s best defensive lineman all season long. He was dominant, despite being shot in the face just a few weeks before the season. All of his teammates and other Big Ten players knew his value, but the Big Ten media did not.

Despite being named to the All-Big Ten Third-Team by the coaches, which was still too low, the Big Ten media left him off their ballots completely. He took to Twitter and made his unhappiness about the decision known. Today, he got his revenge on the conference media.

Garrett was named Second Team All-American by the Associated Press today. The national media seemed to recognize his contributions more than the conference media. It seemed that the coaches were holding some sort of weird grudge.

Garrett was not the only Ohio State player to be recognized by the AP. Wyatt Davis was named First-Team All-American at the guard position. Davis is projected to be the first guard taken in April’s Draft. He continues to rake in the accolades.

Shaun Wade was also named First Team All-American by the AP. Wade was already recognized as the best defensive back in the Big Ten. Wade continues to play well and can hopefully increase his draft stock further by having a good showing in the Sugar Bowl against Clemson.

Wade and Davis are no surprises to be selected as All-Americans. Garrett is a little bit of a surprise based on how the Big Ten voted. The AP made the right choice though. Garrett is clearly the best defensive lineman Ohio State has, if not the entire Big Ten.
