It seems as if Ryan Day and his Ohio State Buckeyes will have some extra motivation going into the Sugar Bowl that is scheduled for January 1st.

The Buckeyes will be looking to secure their first victory against the Clemson Tigers for the first time in school history. The trash talk leading up to the game has already begun and so far it has only been one-sided.

Leading up to selection Sunday, multiple coaches were very vocal with their opinion that the Ohio State Buckeyes did not belong in the College Football Playoffs this season. None were more vocal than Swinney about it.

After the Buckeyes and Tigers were announced to play each other, the talking did not stop. Sweeny said that the Buckeyes did not even crack his top 10.

He believes that the committee should have ranked Alabama first, Clemson second, Notre Dame third, Texas A&M fourth, Florida fifth, Georgia sixth, Cincinnati seventh, Oklahoma eighth, Iowa State ninth, Coastal Carolina tenth, and finally Ohio State eleventh.

This is an outrageous and laughable statement. It is clear that Swinney does not have a future being on the selection committee once he retires from coaching. However, now is as good a time as ever to debunk the blasphemy that Swinney said.

There are easy cases to be made as to why Ohio State is a better team and has a better resume than every single team in the country besides Alabama. There is even an argument that Ohio State and Clemson should flip between the number two and number three spots.
