No. 1: Ohio State 38, Northwestern 14

The Buckeyes need to make a statement in this game. Coaches such as Dan Mullen of Florida and Dabo Swinney of Clemson are already sending out messages that a 6-0 Ohio State team doesn’t deserve to be in the playoffs. Some however do not think it’s a debate.

Here is what Gus Johnson of Fox Sports told the Sporting News:

"“There’s no debate,” Johnson said. “Did you hear me? There’s no debate. The Big Ten did what the Big Ten was supposed to do. Ohio State is one of the best teams in America. We’re not going to penalize one of the best teams in the country. One of the best teams in America is not going to be penalized by their conference with some rules that were made during uncertain times in sports — especially in college sports. Period. Come on. Let’s not stand on ceremony.”"

So some believe Ohio State is in with a win. But I think it’s better to be safe than sorry.

In order for Ohio State to ensure that they get in, they need to let their play on the field do the talking. And after feeling out the Northwestern defense in the first half, Justin Fields, Chris Olave, and Garrett Wilson explode and put up some points in the second.

Covering the big 20.5 point spread with ease should be what the Buckeyes need to let the CFP committee know that they belong.
