Treyveon Henderson is the number running back in the country, and now he is officially a member of the Ohio State football team. Henderson is so good that he should be the starting running back next season as a freshman.

Ohio State was able to grab the number one running back in the country today in Treyveon Henderson. While we knew he was going to be a Buckeye for a while, he has officially signed his letter of intent. Now it’s time to see what he can do on the field at the college level.

Henderson stands at 5’11 and 195 pounds. He has the rare blend of speed and power to be a dominant running back at the collegiate level. While Henderson was not able to play in his senior season because of the pandemic, he still was incredibly productive.

Henderson reminds me a lot of J.K. Dobbins and Maurice Clarett. Both had the power that allowed them to run in between the tackles while also having the speed to break away from defenders once they got through the hole. Henderson can do the exact same thing.

Because Henderson has that skill set, he should be in line to be the starting running back next season. Master Teague has gotten better as he has gone along this season, but he just isn’t the same caliber of back as Henderson is. Henderson is just flat out better.

Henderson will enroll early and start getting work in immediately. Not being able to play his senior season has him chomping at the bit. I would expect next season to be handled similarly to how Mike Weber and Dobbins’ season together was handled.

In that season back in 2017, Weber started the season as the starter but gave way to Dobbins later in the year. Both backs still got a lot of carries. The same will be true next year. Both backs should still get a lot of playing time.

Next. Ohio State players get honored, TTUN gets zero awards. dark

Henderson could be the next great back in Ohio State football history.
