The Ohio State basketball team has a huge week coming up this coming week. They will be playing three games this week.

The first is scheduled for Sunday, December 12th, against Cleveland State. Their next game is Wednesday, December 16th against Purdue. Lastly wrapping up the week on Saturday, December 19th against 16th ranked North Carolina.

Ohio State basketball will begin the week with a game that should be an easy blowout against Cleveland State. So far this season, they are 0-2. Their first loss coming against Toledo with a final score of 70-61. In the second game, they were slaughtered by Ohio, with a final score of 101-46. This should be a nice warmup game for the Buckeyes, and an easy way to improve their record to 5-0.

The second game of the week should be a much more difficult game for the Buckeyes. They will be playing against Purdue. Purdue has a record of 3-2. It will likely be 4-2 after their game against Indiana State.

So far, the Boilermakers have only suffered losses to Miami of Florida by four points, and Clemson by eleven points. While being a better opponent than Cleveland State, the game against Purdue should still be an easy win for the Buckeyes.

Purdue has a very balanced scoring attack, with the leading scorer averaging 14 points per game, while five other players on the roster still average 10 or more points per game. A challenge this game will be to shut down Purdue’s bigs.

Their center, Zach Edey is their leading scorer. Along with this, their forward, Trevion Williams averages 10.2 rebounds a game along with 10 points. It will be essential for the Buckeyes to keep Purdue’s bigs away from the basket and off of the boards.

The final game of the week will be a huge challenge for the Buckeyes. This will be their matchup against the 16th ranked North Carolina Tar Heels. North Carolina is one of the historically best basketball programs in the country. After having a slump of a year after an injury to Cole Anthony, it appears the Tar Heels will be back looking to make a title run this year.

North Carolina only has a record of 4-2 this season. However, their losses have come against Texas and Iowa who are ranked 13th and 3rd in the country respectively. Along with this, the Tar Heels have a full week to rest and prepare for the Buckeyes. With a legendary coach like Roy Williams, giving him a week to prepare for a team is more than enough time for him to know them inside and out.

At the very worst, the Buckeyes should come out of the week with a 2-1 record. However, it is very possible that they can pull off an upset against North Carolina and hold on to their undefeated record. We should find out how good this Ohio State basketball team is.
