Ohio State football: Dabo Swinney is scared of the Buckeyes
By Ryan Stano
It sure sounds like Dabo Swinney doesn’t want to face the Ohio State football team in the College Football Playoff. In fact, it sounds like he’s scared to.
The Ohio State football program got robbed against Clemson last year in the CFP semi-final. Everyone with eyes can see that the referees ended any chance that the Buckeyes had to advance to the national championship. The Buckeyes have been out for blood this season in a year of revenge.
It seems that head coach Dabo Swinney has noticed how well the Buckeyes have been playing and wants no part of them in the CFP. While he was on the Rich Eisen Show, he made a feeble case that Texas A&M or Florida deserve a CFP spot over Ohio State, without actually ever naming Ohio State as the team who should lose their spot.
Swinney is clearly afraid that if Ohio State gets into the Playoff that they could win it all and get revenge on the Tigers in the process. He tries so hard to say that A&M or Florida deserves it because they played more games than Ohio State, despite the fact they both have a loss.
A&M already lost to Alabama in a game that wasn’t close at any point. Florida in turn lost to A&M. What do both of those teams have in common? They both have a loss. Ohio State does not. It’s as simple as that. If either team wanted a stronger case, they should have won all of their games.
Swinney knows that if Ohio State were to get in and face Clemson, they would be extra motivated to take them down after what happened a year ago. He wants no part of the Buckeyes. I really hope the Buckeyes get a chance to take them down now. I want Swinney to have to lose to Ryan Day.
