Ohio State football set to win its 5th Big Ten Championship since 2011
The Big Ten Championship Game is set for Ohio State football to take on Northwestern in Indianapolis on December 19th.
Since the Big Ten Championship game began in 2011, Ohio State football has won the most titles among all other teams in the conference. Winning the championship in 2014, 2017, 2018, and 2019, the Buckeyes are set to capture their fifth title against Northwestern next weekend.
Northwestern, the Big Ten West champions, is 5-1 coming off an upset loss to Michigan State 20-29. After their game against Minnesota was canceled last week, the Wildcats are set to play Illinois in Evanston this weekend, pending no COVID issues.
After the Big Ten decided to allow Ohio State to be eligible for the Big Ten Championship despite not playing the minimum of 6 games, this will be the second championship game between these two teams over the last 3 years.
The #6 Buckeyes faced off against #21 Northwestern in the 2018 Big Ten Championship. The Buckeyes were a 14-point favorite coming into the game and covered the spread in a 45-24 win against the Wildcats. Led by Dwayne Haskins and J.K.
