Ohio State football: Buckeyes to play in the Big Ten title game
By Ryan Stano
Ohio State looks like they will get the shot they deserve in the Big Ten Championship Game as the conference looks like they have changed the six-game rule.
Ohio State has clearly been the best team in the Big Ten all season long. They are undefeated and have looked like the best team all season long. It would be a travesty if they don’t get a chance to play for the conference title. Now it looks like that will be remedied.
It looks like the Big Ten is working on changing the six-game rule that would be needed for qualification for the championship game. According to Pat Forde, that is exactly what they have done.
The Big Ten is being smart by putting the Buckeyes in the Big Ten Championship. It would give Ohio State a chance at getting a conference title, which would certainly give them another data point for the CFP committee to consider.
It would also give them another game to watch for them to continue to pass the eye test. As long as they look dominant in that game, there is no reason that they shouldn’t be selected to the College Football Playoff. The Buckeyes would be an undefeated conference champ.
The Big Ten finally were able to get out of their own way. This was the right move all along. Now Ohio State can carry the water for the rest of the conference and give them money for making the Playoff.
