Ohio State was missing a bunch of players due to COVID and it didn’t matter. The Buckeyes smoked Michigan State 52-12.

Ohio State was missing a bunch of players today because of their COVID problems. They were missing three starters on the offensive line. It ended up not mattering at all as the Buckeyes throttled Michigan State 52-10 in a game that was never close.

Justin Fields was incredible in this game. He was 17/24 for 199 yards and two touchdowns. His throwing ability wasn’t even the best part of his game today. His rushing ability was fantastic. He had 13 runs for 104 yards and two touchdowns as well.

Fields had to catch so many bad snaps today too and made the best of them. Harry Miller was moved to center for today’s game and did a really poor job of snapping the ball. His blocking wasn’t too bad, but almost none of his snaps were on target.

In general, the offensive line actually blocked pretty well. For having three first-time starters up front, they didn’t allow Michigan State to get after Fields very much. It’s a positive sign to see considering that offensive line is going to have to start against TTUN next week too.

The Buckeye defense was a lot better today. Even though they were facing a bad offense, they still made some great plays. Haskell Garrett had a pick-six in the end zone where he knocked the ball down and caught it in the same motion. He continues to be an absolute monster.

Next. Other Big Ten teams should want 6-game rule changed. dark

Any win is a good win, and this was a good win anyway. This game was never close at any point. Ohio State needs to keep this energy next week, even though that game is now in question. As long as they win all of their games left, they will be in the CFP.
