Ohio State is still set to play Michigan State on Saturday at noon. Even though the game last week was canceled on Friday, we feel comfortable that this game will be played.

The college football season has been a whirlwind this season. Postponements and cancelations have run ramped this year. Ohio State has gotten caught in it twice, having games against Maryland and Illinois canceled due to COVID. Now they face Michigan State this week.

This is a very interesting game for multiple reasons. This will be the first time the Buckeyes have played since beating IU 42-35. In that game, the team as a whole looked bad in the second half. It will be their first shot since then to show that they are a better team than that.

It will also be interesting to see which of the Buckeyes have COVID. Those players will miss the rest of the regular season. It doesn’t seem like they will be key players, but we don’t know for sure. We should learn more about who they are tomorrow morning.

The game itself shouldn’t be too tough of a test for Ohio State. While Michigan State is coming off a big upset of Northwestern, they don’t have the talent to keep up with an offense like Ohio State’s. That is of course assuming that Justin Fields isn’t one of the players with COVID.

Even without Ryan Day coaching this game, the Buckeyes should be able to win this game by two or three scores. Larry Johnson should be able to handle the gameplan well enough. There may not be as many explosive plays down the field, but the offense should manage.

Game prediction: Ohio State 35 Michigan State 17

Expect Master Teague to get a healthy amount of carries throughout the game. He had 192 yards against IU and should have a similar output on Saturday. I’m more interested to see how the secondary responds after getting roasted by Indiana.

We could see some new players in the secondary whether or not that unit got hit by COVID. No matter what, we are excited to see this game happen.
