Because of the Big Ten’s absurd rules, Ohio State might get screwed out of winning a Big Ten title and miss out on the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State’s game against Illinois has been canceled because of too many positive tests within the Ohio State program. Everything we had heard up until now led us to believe that the game was going to be played tomorrow afternoon without an issue.

Now the Buckeyes are in a serious bind. They already had one game canceled because of COVID, and now the Buckeyes may miss out on the Big Ten Championship. Now with the Maryland and Illinois game canceled, Ohio State can only play 6 games in the regular season.

That means that no other games can get canceled. The Buckeyes have no room for error anymore. They have to play against Michigan State and Michigan. That is because of the absurd rule put forth by the Big Ten that you have to play at least six games to qualify for the championship.

The Big Ten is trying to eliminate Ohio State from winning a national championship. Their dumb, arbitrary rule very well could eliminate them from getting in the College Football Playoff. This is the absolute nightmare scenario that we all were frightened about before the season.

The Big Ten needs to come to their senses and change this rule. If they don’t, they are going to eliminate their best team from having a chance to win it all. It would be a monumental misstep from a conference that has already had a comedy of errors.

If Ohio State doesn’t make the CFP because of this rule, this will be the single biggest gaffe in the history of the conference, and the Buckeyes should seriously consider leaving. They would be treated a lot better by any other conference.
