Ohio State continues to land high-profile commits all over the place, now landing the number one receiver in the country for the class of 2022.

Ohio State already has a stable of incredible wide receivers. Once Chris Olave leaves early after this season for the draft, the Buckeyes still have Garrett Wilson, Julian Fleming, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Gee Scott, and more highly touted recruits.

Add one more to that list once 2022 rolls around. Ohio State landed five-star receiver Caleb Burton out of Del Valle, Texas. He is the number two receiver in the country and is the 15th best player in the country. Burton has an immense amount of talent.

Burton is able to get open against any coverage easily. He has immensely soft hands. He also has good body control to help him grab any ball thrown his way. Burton is someone who is already polished but can still get better and develop in a lot of ways.

Ohio State has been an absolute monster on the recruiting trail recently. They just landed Quinn Ewers and now he has someone to throw to. Both are from Texas and it was rumored that they were a packaged deal. Once Ewers committed, it looked pretty certain that Burton was to follow.

Ryan Day has been an unbelievable recruiter since taking over. Burton is just another example of that. I would be shocked if Brian Hartline, who is someone that Burton really liked during the recruiting process, didn’t turn Burton into a first-round pick.

The class of 2022 is already shaping up to be a ridiculously good class. 2021 is the second-ranked class in the country, and 2022 is already on track to be even better than that one. Ohio State has so much talent and is dominating the Big Ten at the most important juncture of recruiting.
