The Ohio State football team takes on the No. 9 ranked Indiana Hoosiers this Saturday in Columbus. Here are three predictions for the game.

Who would have thought when the Buckeyes kicked this season off that the Ohio State football team would be taking on a top-ten opponent this season not named Penn State or Michigan? But here we are in mid-November staring at an undefeated Indiana squad and a showdown between the top two quarterbacks in the Big Ten with Justin Fields and Michael Penix Jr.

Indiana is coming off a 24-0 rout of Michigan State last Saturday as the Buckeyes were left at home watching due to Maryland’s Covid scare. Penix put up some impressive numbers going 25 for 38 passing, 320 yards, and two touchdowns. Receiver Ty Fryfogle had a huge day for the Hoosiers with 11 catches for 200 yards and two touchdowns of his own.

The Ohio State secondary should be tested in this one with the combination of Penix and Fryfogle. But the Buckeyes do open as a 21 point favorite. Here are three predictions for the showdown in Columbus this upcoming weekend.

No. 1: Running back Stevie Scott III has himself a game for Indiana

Stevie Scott III is having a really nice season running the ball for Indiana. He had 84 yards rushing last week against Michigan State and another 97 yards and two touchdowns against Michigan the week before. The junior running back from Syracuse, New York is built like a freight train standing at over six foot tall and 230 pounds.

With so much attention being paid to Penix and Fryfogle, Scott should have some room to run on Ohio State. The Buckeyes currently are giving up over 130 yards per game on the ground. And even with the improved play of defensive tackles Tommy Togiai and Haskell Garrett, Ohio State could be in for a long day against this Indiana rushing attack.

I predict that Scott goes for 110 yards on the ground and a touchdown, but will that be enough for Indiana to pull off an upset in Ohio Stadium?
