Ohio State Football: 3 Predictions for the Maryland game
The Ohio State football team meets up with the Maryland Terrapins this upcoming Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff. Here are three predictions for the game.
As the Ohio State football season rolls along into week No. 4, the Buckeyes look to stay undefeated against a much improved Maryland team. The Terps’, coached by Mike Locksley, crushed Penn State last week 35-19.
This is a different Maryland team than the one Ohio State saw last season. Quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa is a difference-maker as the sophomore-transfer completed 18 of 26 passes for 282 and three touchdowns versus Penn State last week.
This Buckeye secondary will have its hands full against the best quarterback they’ve seen thus far this season. Let’s get to the game with three predictions for Saturday’s contest.
No. 1: Tagivailoa goes off
The Buckeye secondary is very suspect at the moment and to be honest, so is the pass rush. Ohio State did not record a single sack against Rutgers last week. With time to move and throw in the pocket, Tagivailoa could be headed for a career day versus this secondary that is missing Cam Brown and features a safety that is having trouble making open-field tackles right now in Marcus Hooker.

Tagovailoa is playing excellent football right now in his past six quarters of play. Taulia seems to be getting a better grasp of Locksley’s offense every time he steps out onto the field this season. And with the poise and confidence he showed against Penn State, look for that to continue next Saturday in College Park.
I expect a big game from Tagovailoa as I predict he goes for over 300 yards passing, two touchdowns with another 30 yards on the ground.
