Ohio State takes on Rutgers on Saturday night for their second straight night game. Here is what we think will happen in that one.

Ohio State has already had two convincing wins on the season. It started out with a 56-17 rout of Nebraska. Then, they beat Penn State 38-25 in a game that really wasn’t even that close. Now they face a 1-1 Rutgers team that is less talented than both of those teams.

What Rutgers lacks in talent they make up for in effort. In their victory over Michigan State, they forced seven turnovers. Five of those were fumbles. Forcing fumbles is mostly about effort. Rutgers might not win this game, but they will certainly compete hard.

Justin Fields should once again have a monster day. His numbers have improved each week so far and this week should be more of the same. It’s very clear now that most of his yards will come through the air. The Buckeyes are not running him much on designed quarterback runs.

What Ohio State will try to do in this game though is establish the run with their running backs. Master Teague looked better last week after struggling in the opener. This will be the perfect game to keep building his confidence. The same goes for Trey Sermon.

Game Prediction: Ohio State 59 Rutgers 14

This is a game that won’t be close at any point. The Buckeyes will dominate from start to finish and put up big numbers in the process. Fields will once again throw for over 300 yards and Chris Olave as well as Garrett Wilson will have 100+ yards receiving.

This game should help Ohio State prepare for a tougher opponent next week in Indiana. The Buckeyes will still undoubtedly have their full attention on Rutgers regardless.
