The Ohio State Buckeyes end their season with Michigan State and Michigan which brings no threat to their College Football Playoff chances.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are rolling right now after their win at Penn State last weekend. They’re on pace to finish the season unbeaten. Ohio State has two games that finish their schedule against Michigan State and Michigan.

Ohio State should not worry about these two final games but should come to play. Ohio State’s offense outmatches both the Spartans and the Wolverines. The Buckeyes defense has the talent to shut down both team’s strengths and capitalize on their weaknesses. After Michigan State and Michigan’s first two games, there are 3 reasons why the Buckeyes should fear their final two games.

3. Michigan’s Secondary struggles on the outside

Watching the Michigan State vs Michigan game, the Wolverines struggled to stop Michigan State’s passing game. One main area was the deep ball and passes on the outside of the field. The Ohio State Buckeyes have a very talented receiving group.

Justin Fields has the arm to place the football down the field. The Michigan Wolverines secondary will have a tough time keeping up with Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson. The Buckeyes have made a living on torching Michigan with crossing routes. This year we can see the Buckeyes offense torch the Michigan secondary on the outside and down the field.

2. Michigan States Offense is their weakness

The Michigan State offense is what will hold them back in their games this season. The Spartans opened up with Rutgers and turned the football over seven times. The biggest strength to the Spartans offense is wide receiver, Ricky White.

Michigan failed to lock him up in their game against the Spartans. Ricky White would have a career day against the Wolverine defense. The Buckeyes have something that Michigan does not have, and that is a shutdown corner.

The Ohio State Buckeyes will most likely place Shaun Wade on the Spartans’ top target Ricky White. The Buckeyes pass rush will also play a big factor. Ohio State will rush Rocky Lombardi more than Michigan did. One thing that was noticed in the Rutgers game is that if Lombardi is rushed he will make mistakes.

1. Jim Harbaugh and Mel Tucker will be outcoached

Mel Tucker is entering his first season as the Michigan State Head Coach. Tucker went into the Big House and beat the Wolverines for his first win. There is a difference between beating Jim Harbaugh and Ryan Day. Harbaugh has not been successful in beating conference rivals. Ryan Day has proven to be calm and collective in his games against conference rivals and has an amazing offensive mind.

Jim Harbaugh is 0-5 against Ohio State in his career as Head Coach at Michigan. After the loss to Michigan State on Saturday he moved to 1-6 against conference rivals. The Buckeyes have had their way with Harbaugh.

There is a huge gap between Ohio State, Michigan State, and Michigan when it comes to talent. The Buckeyes are three steps ahead of the Spartans and the Wolverines when it comes to talent on both the offensive and defensive side.

As long as the Buckeyes play above their competition they will have a walk in the park against both the Spartans and Wolverines. If the Buckeyes play down to Michigan State and Michigan’s level which at times they tend to do with opponents, it will be two grind-out games.
