Former Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor has been sentenced to 90 days of probation stemming from an incident back in November 2019. Pryor was stabbed in the chest and shoulder and was ultimately hospitalized.

Pryor was a standout at Ohio State, throwing for over 6,000 yards from 2008-10 before turning to the NFL. Pryor played in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets and, Jacksonville Jaguars.

Pryor received 90 days’ probation in exchange for a guilty plea to a harassment charge. A misdemeanor simple assault charged was dropped by a Pennsylvania Court.

According to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Stephen Colafella, Pryor’s attorney, stated he was  “pleased” with the court’s decision, he added that “everyone involved is happy to put this to bed and move on to the next chapter of their lives,”

Shalaya Briston, the woman who allegedly stabbed Pryor, was given two years probation after pleading guilty to simple assault. Briston had faced charges of felony attempted homicide and aggravated assault.

According to the article by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, “The case began during an early-morning argument the two had at the Heinz Loft Apartments in Pittsburgh’s North Side in November. Mr. Pryor, Ms. Briston, and two other women were seen at the apartment complex about 4:15 a.m. after the women returned from a club, police said. Mr. Pryor and Ms. Briston began arguing, and the dispute turned violent.”

The Gazette adds that police stated Pryor grabbed  Briston and started arguing with her until the argument turned into a “tussle.” Briston stabbed Pryor with a knife and struck an artery, hospitalizing him and causing him to lose a significant amount of blood.

In the original news story, the Gazette stated that Briston originally told investigators that she didn’t see or know anything. But, detectives noticed that she had a bruise on her nose and was missing two false fingernails.
