On the first Ohio State game day of 2020, make sure you enjoy it because this day almost never happened.

Ohio State plays football today. Let me say that again…Ohio State plays football today! I had to say it twice because it almost didn’t happen. In fact, if Kevin Warren had his way, it never would have happened. He and most of the Big Ten presidents wanted to shut it all down.

It took an immense amount of pressure from the public and resolve from the players to make this day a reality. Ohio State was at the forefront of the movement, with Justin Fields being the face of it. He spoke out about the players wanting a chance to play.

Nebraska was the other team who was extremely vocal about wanting to play football this Fall. It’s only fitting that these two teams start their seasons out by battling against each other on a cool Fall afternoon. This is how it was meant to be.

While you’re watching the Buckeyes, don’t take today for granted. Enjoy all aspects of the game experience today. Sure it might be a bit different than what you are used to. But it’s better than nothing at all, and for the longest time, it looked like that’s what we were going to get.

Ohio State should start off today with a big win over a Big Ten foe. But in a sense, we all win today. Even Nebraska wins today. We all win because Big Ten football is happening, and that’s a beautiful sight to behold.
