Storylines:
Ohio State had a memorable 2019 season but has some big shoes to fill. Gone to the NFL are Chase Young, Jeff Okudah, J.K. Dobbins, Damon Arnette, and Jordan Fuller. Defensive players such as Sevyn Banks, Shaun Wade, Marcus Hooker, and Zach Harrison must step-up and be leaders.
On the offensive side, the Buckeyes will look to utilize two running backs, sophomore Master Teague III and Oklahoma transfer Trey Sermon. We should also get our first look at the four highly-recruited wide receivers- Julian Fleming, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Gee Scott Jr., and Mookie Cooper.
Nebraska has not had a .500 or better season since 2016. Scott Frost enters his third year as the Huskers head coach and will have his hands full this season. The Huskers not only have to play Ohio State in week one but will have a match-up with the Wisconsin Badgers in week two.
They also will have challenging road games this season at Penn State and Minnesota. Adrian Martinez is the starting quarterback for week one, after beating out redshirt freshman Luke McCaffrey for the job.
Series history: Ohio State leads the all-time series 7-1 and has won the last five. This will be the 7th time the teams have played as Big Ten foes, in those meetings the Buckeyes have outscored the Cornhuskers 292-127.
Odds: Ohio State is a 26 point favorite against Nebraska, with an over/under of 67.5, according to ESPN.
We hope you enjoy the game however you are able to consume it. Go Bucks!
