With the return of Ohio State football comes the return of Fall weather. How does the weather look for Saturday’s matchup against Nebraska and how could it affect both teams?

Ohio State football is built on having a tough identity. They want to impose their toughness on their opponent and not get rattled by outside factors. That certainly includes the weather, which might be a slight factor in Saturday’s game against Nebraska.

Right now, it looks like it will be about 47 degrees come kickoff. The temperature isn’t a problem as the Buckeyes are used to playing in cold weather around this time of year. What could be an issue is if the rain stays around until kickoff.

The rain is supposed to move out of Columbus in the overnight hours of Saturday morning. If the system stalls out though, it could set up for some of the worst conditions you can play football in; cold and rainy. That would surely affect both teams in a big way.

Right now there is only a 5% chance of rain at noon on Saturday. It is supposed to just be cloudy and slightly windy at about 10mph. That wind isn’t quite strong enough to have a major effect on the passing game for either side, but it is something worth monitoring.

Weather doesn’t look to be something that Ohio State needs to worry about yet. But things could change in 48 hours very quickly. Don’t be too surprised if there are showers for game time. If that happens, it could affect both teams’ gameplan.
