Ohio State’s full 2020 football schedule was revealed on FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff, and they start out with a doozy on October 24th.

Ohio State finally gets to play this season. It took a lot for them to get to this moment, but they will be on the field in just over a month. Now we finally know their opponent for the first week of the season, and it’s against a team who helped get this season back as much as Ohio State did.

The Buckeyes will take on Nebraska in Ohio Stadium on October 24th. Nebraska isn’t a good football team and will likely get destroyed. The second week of the season is a much more interesting matchup, as the Buckeyes will traveling to Penn State on Halloween.

Weeks 3 and 4 are cakewalks as Ohio State takes on Rutgers at home and then travels to Maryland. The Bucks should have no issue with either one of those teams. The same goes for weeks 5 and 6 as they host IU and travel to Illinois.

Week 7 has the Buckeyes traveling to East Lansing to take on Michigan State. They are a program that is rebuilding and shouldn’t pose much of a threat to Ohio State. The Big Ten did decide to leave Ohio State and Michigan as the last game of the year on December 12th.

That last game of the season is obviously always a big game, but I don’t think that one will determine whether or not Ohio State makes the playoff. I think that second week matchup in Happy Valley will determine who the Big Ten representative in the CFP is.

Penn State is always a tough matchup for the Bucks. But unfortunately for the Nittany Lions, they won’t have the big-time home-field advantage of the whiteout because of the pandemic. That neutralizes their best chance to pull off an upset.

If Ohio State can get through that week unscathed, they should have a clear path to the Big Ten Championship Game and a berth in the CFP.
