Ohio State had been entered in one of the most prestigious early-season tournaments in 2020. While the tournament will still be happening, it won’t be in the Bahamas.

Ohio State basketball will be starting their season a little bit differently than they originally thought. With the basketball season now starting on November 25th, they won’t be playing their first three games as scheduled. Also the Battle 4 Atlantis is being changed too.

Instead of being played in the Bahamas as it normally is, the tournament will now be played in South Dakota. It boasts a very large field of good teams. Besides the Buckeyes, Duke, Witchita State, Creighton, Memphis, Texas A&M, Utah, and West Virginia are participating.

Ohio State would love to get a rematch with West Virginia after they beat them in Cleveland a couple of years ago. I’m sure they would love to see how they stack up against a powerhouse like Duke as well, as they are the favorites to win this tournament.

The Buckeyes are going to have a little bit of a new-look team for the 2020 season. Chris Holtmann’s squad adds Cal transfer Justice Suing this year after he sat out last year. Suing was their leading scorer with 14.3 points per game. He should add a good scoring punch to the Bucks this year.

Ohio State also gets Harvard grad transfer Seth Towns. Towns was the number one transfer on the market. He had 16 ppg to go along with 44.1% shooting from three in 2018 before he missed all of last season with a knee injury. If he stays healthy, he will be a great player.

Towns also decided to head to Columbus over Duke, so if they face off in this tournament, there will be some added juice to that game. No matter where this tournament is played, it should be a lot of fun to watch this Buckeye team play.
