Ohio State football: Big Ten considering starting football in November
By Ryan Stano
The Big Ten continues to get more stupid by the day, as they are now reportedly looking to starting the football season in late November. Ohio State may get to play in 2020 yet.
There have been discussions for a long time about possibly rebooting the Big Ten season. The conference made the decision to cancel the season and it has gotten incredible scrutiny. They say they’re committed to a Spring season, but now they have turned their attention to late Fall.
According to several reports, the Big Ten is in discussions of possibly starting the season in late November. The date seems to be close to Thanksgiving. This would give Ohio State and other Big Ten teams a chance to play in the Fall and have star players still play.
The biggest question I have is why? Why would this make sense to do? Why start so late where no team has a chance to compete for a national championship. Ohio State is a legit national title contender. Starting in late November does them no good in that fight.
The only reason why the conference is even considering this is so they can keep some of their star players so they can get eyeballs to watch on TV. They only care about that TV money. Not having the best players from each team play would mean fewer people would watch.
This lacks common sense. It lacks transparency as to why this is even a thought. Just when I thought the Big Ten couldn’t get any more stupid, they outdo themselves. I truly don’t know why this would be a good idea. I bet this doesn’t even happen anyway.
As always, we will keep you up to date if anything does happen as far as official announcements are concerned.
