There will be no Fall season for Ohio State this year, but the Big Ten is looking into indoor stadiums that can be used for winter football.

Ohio State has fought very hard to try and get a Fall season going. Despite protests from players, coaches, and parents, it’s just not going to happen. The Big Ten has already moved on and is looking for places to possibly play this winter/spring.

Because of the weather and the pandemic, it looks like the conference is looking into domed stadiums. According to Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch, it looks like the conference is taking a deep look at several domed stadiums across the Midwest.

Indianapolis, Detroit, St. Louis, Minneapolis, and maybe even Syracuse are all being looked at. The first four stadiums make sense because they are all in the Midwest and most of them are within easy travel distance. Syracuse does not make sense at all though.

Syracuse’s Carrier Dome houses their basketball team as well, which would presumably be playing during the time the Big Ten wants to play football. It wouldn’t make sense for them to offer up their building for the conference to play some of its games.

Indy would make the most sense to me. Its the stadium the Big Ten uses for its championship anyway and is centrally located for most of the schools. The question is whether or not they would use just one stadium or multiple stadiums in this scenario.

dark. Next. Could Ohio State parents join in lawsuit?

This is just one of many scenarios that I’m sure the conference is looking at. Although to be fair, assuming the conference has any planning going on about anything would be giving them too much credit. We will keep you up to date on any news that pops up about this.
