It looks as though a group of Nebraska parents are about to sue the Big Ten. Could Ohio State football parents join, as well as parents from other Big Ten schools?

The canceling of the Big Ten Fall season continues to be a dark cloud of messiness around the conference. Kevin Warren refuses to speak out and give specifics for his reasoning. Because of that, the conference looks like it is going to get sued.

A group of about 11 Nebraska parents presented the Big Ten with a letter last week asking for transparency on the decision to cancel the season. Since then, the league has not responded. In the letter, it was clear that if no response was given, they would have “no choice” but to sue the league.

The group of parents just want information shared as to why the decision was made. That’s all. That really isn’t that much to ask. Right now it’s just those Nebraska parents involved in the lawsuit. Could parents from other schools join in as well?

Technically yes, they could. But it would make more sense for them to sit out and let this process play out. The parents are suing for freedom of information. What that information is or what it entails is something that remains to be seen. They just want to know why the season was canceled.

What could happen is that Ohio State football parents could have their own lawsuit demanding the same thing. This could also happen at other schools as well. I am not a legal expert, nor will I pretend to be. This is how I understand the situation.

As of now, there is no lawsuit submitted. That seems like it will change soon. Once that does happen, it will be interesting to see what the Big Ten’s response is to it.
