Ohio State football: Buckeyes land another 4-star recruit
By Ryan Stano
Despite Ohio State football not happening in the Fall, they continue to be hot on the recruiting trail. They land another top prospect for the class of 2022.
Ohio State has been killing it on the recruiting trail. Right now they have the number one class for 2021, and now have the number two class for 2022. They added to that ranking after landing the 70th best player in the country today in Dasan McCullogh.
McCullogh is the 7th best athlete in the country and the number one player in the state of Kansas. He was recruited by Al Washington, so it’s a safe bet that he will play linebacker once he gets to Columbus. He is the fifth recruit the Buckeyes have landed for the class of 2022 so far.
McCullogh stands at 6’5 and 220 pounds. He is fast and has really good range sideline to sideline. Being that big, he can also hit hard as well and really intimidate running backs coming through holes. He has played some corner and safety as well, so you know his coverage skills are good too.
Ryan Day continues to show that he can recruit more than just offensive players. This is the second linebacker the Buckeyes have grabbed for the class of 2022 after also nabbing the number one player in the state of Ohio just a few weeks ago.
Al Washington has been noted as a great recruiter and that’s part of the reason Day wanted him on his staff. Both him and Kerry Coombs have made bug impacts on the trail since joining the staff. I would expect that to continue for the forseeable future as well.
Even if we don’t get a Fall football season, it will be exciting to follow the recruiting cycle all year round. Hopefully, Ohio State can land a few more top-ranked guys.
