The Ohio State quarterback started a petition to have a Fall season that has already garnered more than 200,000 signatures. It shows just how much he loves the Buckeyes.

Justin Fields has only been a Buckeye for a year. He had a fantastic season in 2019, finishing the season as a Heisman finalist and led Ohio State to the College Football Playoff. Now he’s showing just how much he loves being in Columbus and being a Buckeye.

Fields has been one of the most vocal players in college football about being allowed to play this season. He started a petition online that already has 200,000+ signatures on it, including several players from the Big Ten conference. He very much wants to play in the Fall.

This shows how much love Fields has for Columbus and Ohio State. It would have been easy for him to say that he was going to sit out the Spring and just prepare for the NFL Draft. He will be a top-two pick in the Draft, and it would have been very easy for him to just forget about all of this.

Instead, Fields has been doing his best to make his voice heard. He clearly wants to compete with his Buckeye teammates this year and get his shot at a national championship. In just a short time he has fully embraced Ryan Day and the coaching staff as well as the Buckeye community as a whole.

It would be a damn shame to see Fields only get one year to be Ohio State’s quarterback. He deserves a better last pass than an interception in the end zone against Clemson. He’s trying his best to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Next. Ohio State players deserve a chance to play. dark

I doubt that the Big Ten will change its mind when it comes to playing in the Fall. Because of that, it’s extremely unlikely Fields takes another snap for the Scarlet and Gray. But it has been fantastic to see him fight for his right to continue to be a Buckeye.
