One of the most exciting things for Ohio State fans this year will be the chance to avenge the two most recent losses to Big Ten teams – Purdue and Iowa. Nobody wants to remember the last times these teams played each other, but this year Ohio State gets the chance for redemption.

Ohio State will travel to Purdue on September 19th for an early-season clash. While the last time the Buckeyes went to Purdue ended terribly for the scarlet and gray, this should be a different game.

One reason is that this will feel less like an away game since there is little chance of stadiums being close to full capacity. This loss will also be fresh on all the players who were in West Lafayette the last time, which should serve up some extra motivation.

Ohio State will then end the year hosting Iowa in a chance to redeem themselves from when they were embarrassed in Kinnick Stadium. In what will be a pivotal week, there is no chance for the Hawkeyes to sneak up again.

While these seasons may feel like a lifetime ago, there are enough players that were at both these losses to help the team stay focused during preparation. So far Ryan Day has not let his team take any opponent for granted, and this year should have plenty of motivation for that streak to continue.
