The captains on this year’s Ohio State football team have been announced and all seven are certainly deserving of the honor.

Ryan Day has a terrific group of captains to lead his Ohio State football team this season. He has seven captains who aren’t just talented players but also lead by example.

Here are the captains for 2020 as reported by 247Sports. Let’s take a look at the defensive players first.

Tuf Borland: The middle liinebacker is now a three-time captain putting him in rarefied air. The senior has progressed each year he has been on campus and obviously has the respect from his teammates for the work he puts in.

Jonathon Cooper: The DE was voted captain last year and much was expected of him. Unfortunately he was injured early in the season and only played in three of the first 11 games.

Since he had one more game he could play and still take a redshirt he came back to help his teammates defeat that team up north. Enough said.

Justin Hilliard: Talk about a hard-luck guy. Hilliard was a five-star recruit out of high school but has battled injuries since his first year in Columbus. He has performed well when healthy so it’s nice to see his never give up attitude was appreciated by his teammates.

Shaun Wade: This DB came in as one of the top CB recruits in the country but was willing to play any position in the defensive backfield as needed. He certainly deserved to be named a captain for his team-first attitude.

Now for the captains on the other side of the ball.
